Salary: £30,000

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the HR Officer will have many duties, some of which include:

  • Managing and implementing the staff recruitment process
  • Assisting with ongoing HR procedures
  • Prepare the monthly payroll
  • Be the first point of contact for all basic HR and payroll enquiries
  • Maintaining registers and the database, ensuring all information is up to date, accessible, accurate and managed in accordance with data protection legislation
  • Preparation of the annual census
  • Assisting where necessary such as minute taking or issuing letters

Experience

  • HR experience in a comparable role is essential, including basic employee relations and performance management
  • Experience of handling sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Working knowledge of office management processes is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to relate well to others, remain calm under pressure, juggle a wide range of tasks
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient use of Microsoft applications Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of payroll is desirable, though not essential
